Progress??

Well, thanks to some church friends' advice, I think we have possibly made a little progress with potty training?? S G told me to try and put him backward on the potty...worked for her little guy who didn't train until 3 1/2 or 4. So, I put him on, he was facing the bowl, we put some interesting stuff on the bowl so he could b entertained while sitting there...he actually sit there for a couple minutes and wasn't thinking about peeing...One of our theories is that he was under too much pressure to "make it go". So, at least he is sitting there, giving it a chance... One of these times it's gonna happen. Ava and I always leave the room, turn on the water, talk about pottying, and wait, and wait. He always says...I don't have to pee...I promise I won't pee in my diaper...then 5 minutes later, he pees in his diaper. But a little progress goes a long way. I think we're gonna try the "shoot the floating mean guys" approach again. If you know Jacob, you know he is infatuated with mean guys (good or bad?). So, I think if we make it into an assassination of some sort (not violent of course), he may think it's fun! We'll c...pretty desperate for now. Planning to b home fri, sat, sun this weekend, so will try again. This will be 3-5 day trial # 3 for me. It's just not as easy as you might think if you're not in the situation. I used to think parents were inadequate...not spending enough time, not patient...not the 100% best parent like I was...if their kid didn't potty train by 2. Well...believe me...I have changed my mind...I have found out though, that most of my friends who have little boys, have had the same problem...so I'm not crazy or stupid:)

By the way...Jacob told me I was beautiful last night...sniff sniff
