Happy Holidays...

ok...I've been dreading this post...I hate trying to fit in 2 wks of events in one short post. I put a few pictures up but didn't scratch the surface of everything we did...
Christmas eve we went to my aunt Arlene and Paul Bean's house for my dad's side. We used to do gifts, etc., but have simplified to just the little ones. They opened presents and the rest of the evening was spent eating and talking with family...was quite nice...
Afterwards, we headed home to get our cookies and milk ready for santa...I put the kids to bed, but they were very reluctant for me to leave them...I was kinda surprised...figured they would jump right in bed and get to sleep so Santa could come...Ava said she was afraid the security system alarm would go off when he got into the house and the cops would come...I have no idea...you'd think the cops had been to our house a million times or something...
Christmas morning was spent, the 4 of us (and unborn baby Truelove), opening our gifts to each other. My husband I had an agreement this year, that we would not buy for each other (we always say that and only one of us keeps our word)...Well, the kids got him a really cool resin deer with big antlers...just for decor in his new office (will b downstairs). And, when I got my box ...from the kids....yeah right...It felt really heavy and they kept telling me it was from rural king. When I opened it, I found a bunch of metal tools...I was thinking...ok....what is this about...Then, there was the little box...the infamous little box...had a diamond cross pendant in it...beautiful...my husband has always had great taste in jewelery!
Then, my parents came over so we could unwrap the adult presents...it was fun...nice and relaxed...the kids' presents from Paps and grandma were packed for Michigan...they wanted to open theirs when my nephews opened theirs.
Then, off to brunch at my country grandma's...I made waffles this year...I love this brunch...always hits the spot!
We went home and took naps (well, I didn't...) and headed to memaws for Christmas with Shad's family...She had a meal and a lot of other stuff to eat...we opened presents and played with uncle Chase...
The day after Christmas we headed to Michigan to be with my brother and his family. Shad didn't go...he worked Friday so decided he'd skip this year...it was probably a good thing...A usual 5 hour trip took 8 hours due to the horrible ice storm up north. Me, Ava, Jake, Mom, and Dad, and a carload...I mean a huge carload of presents/luggage...went about 10 mph from Lafayette, IN to Michigan...the kids were great...I was about ready to puke.
In Michigan, we ate a nice big meal prepared by my brother and his wife, opened presents, swam in the hotel pool, lounged, etc...we also went to their Saturday evening service at church. We headed back to IN on Sunday.
I was off the whole next week, but didn't enjoy it much...just didn't feel good all week. Nothing specific...aches and pains, bad bad mood, etc. I feel bad but the kids still said they were glad mommy was home. I must say...I love being home with my kids, but it is definately necessary for me to work...to keep mine and their sanity.
This past weekend wasn't real exciting either...just hung around home...
Back to work today...I really thought coming back was gonna b tough, but it has been a good day...and mom is fixing us dinner tonight so it's even gonna get better!
I did have a little (actually really big) scare last night with the pregnancy...we did an early morning ultrasound today and everything looks great! In only 3 weeks, this little person has developed arms and legs (2 and 2!!!) and 2 eye sockets! Heart rate was fast this time (last time was on the low side) probably bcause it's mom was about to have an anxiety attack. She did a 3D ultrasound(there are major perks to working in ob office) just for fun and it is absolutely amazing already. So, pray that things remain healthy!

I will continue to keep you in my prayers. I will bring over the maternity clothes sometime this week...Thank you for letting me borrow them. Although it was kind of sad to sort through them, I miss rubbing the "belly":( Maybe when you have this little person, I will be ready to borrow those clothes again:)
