I have to tell you about a woman I met today...She is 40ish and is a breast cancer survivor...was diagnosed, postpartum, while breastfeeding her newborn baby boy...underwent surgery, chemo, and radiation...to help with her lymphadenopathy, she started making jewelery to use her left arm and hand more vigilantly...helping mobility and decreasing swelling...these are the necklaces she makes...she had one on for me to see...they are beautiful...She uses beads and crystal for the necklace, uses the clasp you see in this picture...the pendant is a fused glass piece (looks like a glass rock...about 1/4 inch thick...and has sparkly cuts...on it, she uses a kiln to fuse a personal photo (usually children or family pictures) to the surface...she uses top grade glazes to make the glass and photo waterproof...she can also put a picture on the back to make it reversible... She also makes matching bracelets and earrings so you would have a set...no pictures on these, just matching beads/crystals...Not only are her necklaces beautiful, but her story and why she does this makes it even more desirable...Take a look...
The pieces you see here are her necklace with a picture of her 3 children...it is a black and white picture and this necklace is absolutely priceless...so cute...and so different...she gave me permission to tell you all this on the blog and if you are interested in ordering, she has a pretty long waiting list...is taking christmas orders now....I didn't ask about prices, but I have her number if you want to call me...
