My pirate flew into the speaker!!!

There is never a dull, unexciting moment at our house...for sure. Last night, we basically, just played, visited my mom and dad, goofed off, etc. We've had some issues with our 5yr old princess...a little bit of sassiness has come her way. I've been talking nonstop to her about respect, minding our space and others' space, not interrupting when adults talk, not pestering our brother just to make him cry...etc. Anyway, last night was the end of the rope for me. I cannot even remember exactly what was said or done, but I do remember that some authority was shown by her mother! The whole way home from my parents' house, I was told that I hurt her feelings, and other guilt trips. So, we had a nice long talk and everyone loved everyone in the end, but it took a good hour to get through that drama.
Then, when we got home, Jacob was playing pirates...I was in the kitchen (talking to Ava still) and we heard a crash, Jacob crying, and knew some tragedy had occured in the living room. Me and Ava looked at each other and ran to his rescue...he was crying so hard and trying to tell me what had happened...it was so cute, but I couldn't figure out what he was saying...sounded really bad. Come to find out, he said, "my pirate...my pirate...he, he, he flew right into that speaker mom...he just flew in and he's never (sob, sob) coming out!!!!". My arm was way too big to fit in the tiny hole of the sub-woofer (not a speaker, my hubby informed me), so my brave little girl stuck her tiny little arm all the way in...we turned, propped, shook, etc. She couldn't feel anything...Jake continued to sob in worry...so, we called daddy who was deer shining...he came home, got out the drill, took the sub-woofer apart, and SAVED THE PIRATE!!! Jacob really thinks his dad is a hero now. Then, off to bed we went...

Cute story Jamie. Wish all of there lifes problems were so easily solved. Know how you feel with the drama thing with Ava. I'm dealing with that with a 14 yr old princess of my own. lol Hang in there, girls are definitely harder than boys though. I guess maybe its those female hormones. ??
