Everyone's doing better:)

Yes...after a very long week, I think the kids are back to somewhat healthy. Ava started with 104 fever last Tuesday. It didn't really break until Friday. We visited Dr. Ruff (our favorite). He spent almost an hour with Ave...he couldn't really find anything specific, but just didn't think she looked good. I had promised her no shots before the appt (I figured it was just a viral thing and she didn't really have any other symptoms). Well, I kept my promise, but the bad news was that he decided to draw blood instead...She had a major panic attack. However, when it came time to actually lay down and put on the tourniquet, she was very calm and didn't even whimper when they stuck her. I was so proud. She said she would rather have that done that a shot "any day". Her CBC was ok for the most part. She is a little iron deficient, so we're supplementing daily for 3 months. She actually took it really well. Besides a couple other minor issues, I think we're on the road to recovery. Jacob had said his ears and throat hurt on Tuesday too, so I got him in with Dr. Ruff with Ava. He and I both looked at Jake and had to wonder...Opposed to the hour he spent with Ava, it only took him about 30 seconds to determine that Jacob's illness was not too significant...we think it might have been "don't leave me out" pains more than anything. But Dr. Ruff remembered and had a fresh supply of Iron Man stickers just for Jake, so he got better pretty fast.
I had my routine check up this morning...wasn't really scheduled...I knew I needed one this week, so I just grabbed my OB record, weighed myself, and put myself in a room when I got here this morning...Dr. Hopf and I had a long visit...the OB part took about 5 minutes...the rest was office politics and chit chat....he's so personable....after a little patience and persistence, we were able to hear a little heartbeat (which is sometimes difficult at this point because baby is so small). We guessed it in the 160s...which is good. Everything seems fine and I've only gained one pound so far!!!! Knock on wood....I've never really gained with my pregnancies...I think the most I ever gained was with Ava and was around 15 lb. Hope this time isn't much different...I have a feeling it will be much harder to lose this time around. I'm definately not starving...can't believe I haven't gained 20 lb already. Guess this baby is taking it all in...must have a big appetite like its mama:)

Ava looked worn out yesterday at church, I was wondering if she was under the weather (Izabelle had Croup over the weekend). Glad to hear that you were able to hear the baby's heartbeat.

Hey...I meant to talk to you yesterday...could you drop off those clothes tonight or sometime? Or, I would be glad to come over and get them. I need to get them washed and probably start wearing them soon. I just told Tera yesterday that I really wasn't having any trouble fitting into my clothes yet, but this morning, it was a little different story. Still fit, but definately tighter

Dr. R didn't say much about the steroids bc we were already done with them by the time we saw him but def wanted her to stop the Zyrtec. He didn't mention tubes at this visit but wants to see her back in a month to see if the fluid drained on its own. He did say that there is a good chance if it doesn't drain that she will get another infection. He said it was probably better to keep her off as much medicine as possible and see if it clears up on its own. I sure hope so! Hope your kids stay well also! Luke is still thinking about the medicine we talked about so as soon as he decides something I will email you. See you Saturday!!

Don't bring anything but yourselves! We have it all under control! Jake might want to bring something to play with?? We are probably gonna bring a few toys also.
