We had a busy, fun-filled weekend...my kids were absolutely crazy 24-7...wound up...Friday, we had preschool and then headed to Darla's for supper...we were there around 4ish and stayed until evening...the kids colored eggs and played...the adults had conversation...I forgot to even take pics that night...Darla got a good one of Jacob with a whole egg in his mouth...pretty hilarious.
Friday night, we had a slumber party at mom and dads...well me and Jake did...Ava stayed with Memaw overnight. Saturday morning, we had Claire's baby shower...it was nice to sit and kinda catch up with Jess G. Then, off to the Gasthof for lunch and the big Easter hoo haa that my kids talk about all yr long...We rode the barrel train (got really mad at parents with kids running wild everywhere), the carriage, and of course hunted Easter Eggs...again, I got really upset with parents...seriously...were dragging their kids by the arms through the eggs...making sure they got them before the other kids whose mothers did not accompany them (that would be me)...Then, it was also pretty heart-wrenching to watch Ave's group...those kids were like animals...poor Ava and Maggie...they were the ones who didn't push and shove and they only got 1-2 eggs out of the whole yard!!! I told Ava she would be rewarded for being so humble and sweet...Here are some pics of that day:
Saturday evening, we had another easter egg hunt at Country Gma's...the only kids there were Jake and Ave...so they got all the eggs!! I know that's being greedy...forgive me...we had a great meal and pretty good conversation...I was feeling kinda quiet, but I took it all in and had a full belly when I left.
Sunday morning was not easy...I got up at 530, got ready for church, woke kids up at 6 to open their easter baskets, then tore through the house to get them ready for church...well, as usual, we were at church by 6:50am and didn't start til 7:15...we're always first there...with my dad...I thought the kids did well for being so tired...we had sunrise service, a great breakfast at church, sunday school, the regular sunday service, then back to mom's for lunch...Here are some easter pictures from Saturday evening...
Sunday evening, we spent some time with Darla...had another easter egg hunt at her house and ordered pizza...then, off to bed for the night!
